The city had many surprises in store for him, including a frightening moment that he will share later in this article. While many online articles feature white beaches and resorts, most of these places are actually located on the neighboring Island Garden City of Samal, which is part of Davao Del Norte. However, there are still plenty of places to explore within the city, and Micko recommends a few of them.

A two-hour journey northeast of Davao City on the beautifully paved and high Bukidnon Davao (Buda) road will take you to one of the locations he suggests, the Epol Spring Resort in Marilog District. A mere hour's drive from Davao's city center is another location that comes highly recommended: Eden Nature Park & Resort. Visitors can join a 45-minute guided shuttle trip to view the greatest parts of this 40-hectare park, which offers a variety of attractions. The Philippine Eagle Center, located an hour or more outside of Davao City, is another destination Micko suggests. The rare Philippine eagles are housed in this forest-like conservation facility, which also gives tours. The sole group of Philippine eagles kept in captivity is presently housed on an eight-hectare tract of rainforest. Finally, Jack's Ridge resorts offer an overlooking view of the city, as it is the second highest point in Davao.

These are just a few of the many places you can enjoy while in Davao. However, this article is mainly about Micko's experience exploring the heart of the city at night. Night clubs in Davao are only allowed to operate until 1:00 a.m. the following day, and the city strictly enforces all its ordinances, including this one. Smoking and vaping are also not allowed in all public places, and traffic rules are strictly enforced. The penalties for breaking these rules are higher than in other cities in the country. If you're looking for food and souvenirs, Roxas Night Market is the most popular venue.

Davao has many exciting places to explore, and Micko had a great time discovering them. It's essential to follow the city's laws and ordinances to avoid any mishaps, and he learned this the hard way.
