The eye of Typhoon "EGAY" DOKSURI is estimated to be around 350 km east southeast of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, or about 320 km east northeast of Casiguran, Aurora, as of the most recent observation at 3:00 AM today (17.1N, 125.0°E). The typhoon is generating strong wind gusts of up to 215 km/h and maximum sustained winds of 175 km/h around its core, posing major hazards to the impacted areas.
The typhoon is currently moving 15 km/h westward and northwestward, perhaps getting closer to the Northeastern Luzon vulnerable areas. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) is one official source that local authorities and residents in these areas are recommended to regularly monitor for updates.
Preparation efforts should be given priority as Typhoon "EGAY" approaches to safeguard the safety of communities that may be in its course. It is anticipated that heavy rainfall, intense winds, and possible storm surges will pose a threat to life and property and call for an emergency reaction.
PAGASA will continue to offer up-to-date information to aid in disaster management activities while closely monitoring the typhoon's movements. In order to maintain the highest level of safety during this weather disturbance, the public is urged to follow official advisories, adopt the appropriate safety measures, and work with local authorities.
As the situation changes, stay tuned for more updates.
