Eating Habits That Combat H. pylori Bacterium, a Common Precursor to Cancer



While no single food has the ability to "kill" H. pylori, certain dietary choices may help manage the amount of H. pylori, a bacteria that can infect the stomach and cause ulcers, and enhance general stomach health. Here are some foods and dietary recommendations that may be beneficial:


1 Foods High in Probiotics


Probiotics are good bacteria that can help maintain a healthy gut flora and may help reduce H. pylori infection. Consume fermented foods such as yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, and others.


2. Cranberry Juice: 


Some research suggests that cranberry juice may help suppress H. pylori in the stomach lining. To prevent extra sugars, use unsweetened cranberry juice.


3. Green Tea


Green tea contains antioxidants as well as chemicals that may have antibacterial capabilities. Green tea can be consumed on a daily basis as part of a healthy diet.


4. Manuka Honey


Manuka honey has been studied for its antibacterial effects, particularly against H. pylori. However, because of its high sugar content, it should be consumed in moderation.


5. Garlic
