Veteran Filipino actor Ronaldo Valdez, 76, makes a final bow after decades of fame

Renowned Filipino actor Ronaldo Valdez, who had a varied career spanning almost five decades in both film and television, passed away at the age of 76.
The reason for his death is still unknown. His children, Melissa Gibbs and actor-comedian Janno Gibbs survive him, as does his wife, Maria Fe Gibbs.
Ronald James Dulaca Gibbs, who was born in 1947, Valdez left a lasting impression, most notably by being the first Filipino Colonel Sanders at KFC.
Dolphy first saw Valdez in the middle of the 1960s, and he became well-known in the 1970s by playing important parent roles.
His roles in television shows like "Los Bastardos" (2018-2019) and "2 Good 2 Be True" (2022-2023) in recent years demonstrated his persistent skill.
Among Valdez's notable film achievements are his roles in "Labs Kita, Okey Ka Lang?" and "Seven Sundays."
Recognizing the lasting impact he had on Filipino entertainment, the Philippine entertainment industry laments the passing of this legendary character.
